Final verdict

It’s no secret that society has different expectations for men and women. Women are often seen as the more emotional gender, while men are seen as the more logical gender. This is reflected in the language we use to describe men and women. When we describe men, we often use adjectives like “strong,” “tough,” and “ambitious.” When we describe women, we often use adjectives like “pretty,” “sweet,” and “gentle.”

While there are certainly some men who are strong, tough, and ambitious, and some women who are pretty, sweet, and gentle, these adjectives don’t really describe the whole person. They only describe one small part of who that person is.

If we want to truly engage with the people around us, we need to start using language that reflects the complex and multi-dimensional nature of every individual.
